Something shocking happened that at the end of the day to me isn't that big of a deal, but it was shocking.

And I respect and understand how the giant fan may not take it the way I take it.

And that was the stunning announcement that Evan Neal is coming back.

He sucks.

Well, you can say that now.

But I went and watched his rookie tape.

This is 2022.

Now, he started.

Don't forget.

He started week one of that season. This is the year the Giants went to the postseason. Brian Dable's first year. They're actually, they win that game. Evan Neal looks good. I mean, he's a rookie. And every now and then he gets beat by a speed rush around the edge because he's just not used to the speed of the NFL players. But for the most part, his tape looks good. That was a long time ago. It was a long time ago. So in my mind, I'm thinking something must have happened. Like what happened? How did he derail into this guy who a lot of people look at as a bust? And so he gets hurt in week seven against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's a run play. It's a zone play. So he's, you know, smashing down the defensive end. Seekuan Barclay cuts right behind him, trips him up. He hurts his ankle. He misses five weeks. And then he comes back and they're playing the commanders. and he actually still looks good.

So year one, okay.

And so I thought it was injury.

Yeah.

I don't think it was injury.

So it wasn't?

I don't know.

And so something happened between year one and year two where Evan Neal became the butt of the joke for the New York Giants.

The guy who is the example for why Joe Shane is a terrible general manager.
