As I promised, I'm reaching back from time to time for some of my favorite episodes

that I hope will provide a little relief from the grinding news of the day.

Today, I want to share a conversation I had in 2016 with Steve Kerr, the splendid coach

of the Golden State Warriors.

Steve has eight championship rings as an NBA player and coach.

Three came on those immortal Chicago Bulls teams with Michael Jordan that was being featured

in the current ESPN documentary series The Last Dance.

But even if you don't enjoy sports, I think you'll enjoy this conversation because Steve

is so much more than a great athlete and coach.

Raised in part in the Middle East, he lost his father to assassination in Lebanon.

And as one of the most thoughtful, interesting people, I've had a chance to sit down with.

So I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

I read a column that some columnist wrote in October saying, Steve Kerr should run for

President of the United States.

And I was thinking about the negative ad.

Steve Kerr born in Lebanon raised among Muslims in Egypt.

Is he really an American?

And so on.

But I don't think most people know about your journey and how you grew up.
