So I'm a Maryland alum, and I don't begrudge anybody for leaving for what they perceive

or better jobs or getting more money or whatever.

This is America, man. Get the back.

I think there's a right and a wrong way to do things.

You wrote a story, the headline of which says he played us like a drum inside Kevin Willard's turbulent Maryland departure.

Get us up to speed on how this all went down.

Yeah, and I think your point there is why there's so much frustration from Maryland fans.

Just, you know, it's not simply just that he was leaving or it's not just that some of his complaints don't have validity, which we can get into it a second.

But I think it's the way that he carried himself toward the end, the way that looking back on it, he was clearly, at best, misleading people at worst, just straight

up lying about what he was doing behind the scenes. That led to kind of this moment they were in

right now where Maryland's in a tricky spot having to replace head basketball coach without

an AD, transfer portals all rolling right now. And I think a lot of it could have been avoided.

But I think what I got into in my story was that this was building for a while.

I think that Kevin Willard was never maybe truly happy at Maryland.
