So, how the hell can anyone talk for more than five minutes about making popcorn?

That's what I was thinking when I saw it on the production calendar for the recipe with Kenji and Deb.

Yet, here it is. It's our pick for the best episode of this show for this year.

I was very skeptical.

But then I listened to the first mix and boom, it was all there.

Yes, they're two of the premier recipe writers in the country.

They clearly know what they're talking about.

But what really makes it for me is they just really love popcorn.

And they're having so much fun chopping it up with someone at their level

of food nerdery that's right nerdery it is a word i just made up this episode feels like two

tennis masters playing pickleball just for fun. Anyways, enough from me, popcorn from the recipe

with Kenji and Deb. All right, I want to hear your popcorn stories. Well, I want to ask you,

are you a popcorn lover? I am a popcorn enthusiast. I love popcorn. It is my favorite snack. I used to make it after school. Yeah. What was your after school snack? My after school snack was popcorn. Do you know why?

Why? Specifically because my mom would give us 50 cents after school every day to go to the corner store. It was called Farrells by my high school. We'd go to the corner store. 50 cents was enough to buy one bag of chips or two bags of wise popcorn.

Wow.

So I would get two bags of wise buttered popcorn after school every day.

I would make it in the microwave.

We had a microwave popper and it was great because it was like very easy, hard to mess up.

I think it wasn't like I was plugging in an appliance specifically for it or like running a gas stove.
