One of my favorite things this time of year is to check out the fundraiser channel in the Radiotopia Slack.

It shows us when someone is donated to the fall fundraiser and shares any messages

they may have sent along with their donations, like this message from a listener named Laura.

To the best in the business, keep up the great work. Or this one from Alan. Thank you for all your

incredible work, just a small token which can never meet the value Radiotopia brings.

Man, if we could run on these messages alone, we'd be rich.

Alas, we cannot.

Our fundraiser is coming to a close later this month, and to be candid, it's been a really tough year to be asking people for money.

It's unsurprising given the elections and everything going on in the world.

People are exhausted and we get it. But let me say this. The money we raise during the fundraiser

is crucial to keeping Radiotopia and this show going throughout the year. It's a tough time for

independent media and podcasts, for people who want to have control over their intellectual property, over their business decisions, and over their creative projects.

Radiotopia is a place, maybe the place, where that's possible.
