The Big Ten Media Day days, I guess, have taken place.

The team that probably outside of Indiana is generating and creating the least amount of conversation or buzz.

And I want to know if that's warranted or if people are sleeping on it is Purdue.

Joining us now from the Lafayette Journal and Courier is Sam King who covers the boilers.

Sam, we'll begin with that.

I mean, there is almost the, it seems ubiquitous storyline from everybody is that Purdue is bottom of the barrel of the Big Ten and that they have not done much to

their roster from a year ago. That's a lazy take or there seems to be evidence that that

would be accurate? I think it's kind of strange. I was talking with Nathan Baird from the Indy Star

who covers the Boilers there yesterday and also some other people that voted in these

preseason polls with cleveland.com with USA Today and nobody seems to want to confess to having

picked Purdue last but when you look at all of these preseason prognostications, Purdue

is kind of consensus last place in the big 10 18th out of 18. So somebody somewhere is picking the boilers left.

You know, I had Purdue maybe more in that 13 to 14 range, and not that that's great, but,

you know, I think that's probably what people are looking at is Michigan State as a new head coach.

Indiana has a new head coach, and that kind of creates

a little bit of buzz. Purdue didn't get that same kind of rub last year, obviously, with a new head

coach. But I think that, you know, this might be a great thing for Purdue because you're either

going to meet expectations or you're going to exceed expectations based on where people

think you're going to land. And I think that Purdue really can exceed expectations. The downside,

and maybe this plays into it, is Purdue's schedule is clearly one of the toughest in the country

when you see that you've got the Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Oregon, Notre Dame.
