I thought it was interesting that Dan Arlofsky, who obviously knows the position well and does an outstanding job on ESPN of articulating the quarterback position and just kind of what you can look for, had a column where he lists the seven traits of an NFL quarterback.

0:15.0

And Dan Arloffsky, in doing so, you know, things like pocket presence, footwork, arm strength.

0:22.8

There's no Colts quarterback mentioned.

0:26.6

And I don't mean that as an indictment on Arlofsky at all.

0:32.6

I think that speaks to the mediocrity that the Colts may be stuck in at the quarterbacking spot.

0:34.6

But wanted to talk to him about that and more.

0:38.5

Of course, he needs little introduction in the city of Indianapolis, but I'll do it nonetheless.

0:35.4

He is with ESPN now and Dan Arlofsky joins us on the program. Dan, how are you, man? Appreciate the time. Good to be with you. I'm doing great. How about yourself? No complaints, man, except for, and I guess this is a good thing. It gives us plenty to talk about an indie,

0:39.9

but we still just don't know where the Colts are at the quarterbacking spot.

1:14.3

So I'm going to begin with this question point blank. And that is, if you are in year three when it comes to Anthony Richardson, and I know the tantalizing upside and we've seen the glimpses of it, Dan, but you know this position and you've played it. If you're in year three and you still don't know exactly who a guy is, does that actually tell you that you know exactly who the guy is?

1:18.5

I think more often not my answer would be yes, but the kind of asterisk in this situation

1:24.9

is just a blank time. Like, gee, just hasn't played enough. You know, and so there's guys that are in just hasn't played enough you know and so there's

1:30.0

guys that are in year three and they've you know started almost every game and played a ton of snaps

1:35.6

and there hasn't been a ton of growth indoor development for anthony it's you're still sitting there

1:40.9

going can i string together you know five six, eight starts in a row type of thing.

1:46.6

And that hasn't really happened.

1:48.2

And so I think that's the, continues to be the maddening thing.

1:53.9

And that's probably one of the things that was maddening, you know, coming off of the game the other day is, you know, he gets hurt and he gets hurt

2:03.3

in part because he's completely in tune to some of the things that are going on.

2:10.8

And instead of getting him two, three series and some meaningful work and, you know,

2:15.6

maybe some upside and hope, you're sitting there with, you know, maybe some upside and hope you're sitting there with,

2:18.9

you know, an unanswered question once again.
