I am fascinated by the story of Cam Newton in general. So I am a Cam Newton fan.

And I have been for a long time since he came in at Auburn and just it was a crazy story about whether or not he had been paid or whether or not he had received compensation.

And this is one of those things that I would acknowledge in retrospect. I was wrong on.

And every now and then I think it's important to examine whatever opinion you are and try to say, OK, do I still believe what I used to believe?

And we're in one of these eras now where changing your mind is considered to be an awful thing. I think I first of all, I changed my mind all the time.

You watch the television show they make fun of me because every game to me is a new data point that requires me to reexamine what I might have previously thought.

And that's maybe the warrior in me because if you're a warrior and you are arguing a case every time a judge comes down with a new decision or you get a new fact, you have to immediately adjust and recalibrate whatever your argument might be to take into account of the changing dynamics.

And so every single day I am open to the idea and certainly every single game, I'm open to the idea, hey, maybe I'm wrong here. Maybe I have been analyzing this incorrectly. And for those of you who listen to the show regularly, you know that I will point to Marshawn, a lot of more.

And what happened to him with his knee injuries as evidence of a moment for me when I was like, you know what, I think anybody who is focused on whether or not college athletes are getting paid outside of their scholarship or outside of their stipend is just wasting their time.

And for me, I was like, back when Cam Newton was playing at Auburn, I was like, oh, you know, it's a big deal whether or not Auburn played Cam Newton $180,000, whether ports are out there. And then I'm like, why do I care?

Like Cam Newton is going to be a really good player or he's not. And whether he got paid extra money to go to Auburn doesn't impact my enjoyment of watching him on the field.

And similarly, whether a guy gets a new car to go sign with a team or whether he gets a better apartment or whether his mom or dad get the opportunity to get a better job than they might otherwise get that's capitalism.
