Huge upset. The Kansas City Chiefs go on the road as basically a double-digit underdog.

And in the second half deliver an absolute beat down to the New England Patriots.

42-27 win. And if you look at the box score and start to go through things,

Alex Smith, virtually perfect. Tom Brady looked basically average.

The Chiefs find another big-time playmaker outside of the very beginning of the draft

Kareem Hunt from out of Toledo comes in and scores three times carries the ball 17 times for

148 yards and also has nearly a hundred yards receiving between him and Tyree Kill.

They make a lot of plays and all of a sudden the Kansas City Chiefs who I think a lot of people believed were

kind of almost in a rebuilding mode after the way that they let guys go.

I drafted a new quarterback. Everybody kind of of the belief that maybe Alex Smith has passed his prime.

And then they go on the road in Gillette Stadium as the Patriots are celebrating another World Series,

another World Series, another World Championship coming back from the 28 to three deficit in the Super Bowl.

And punch them right in the mouth. And they do it despite the fact that the Patriots got up early.

Right? I mean the Patriots were up 17 to seven seemed early on in that game like they were just going to totally put it away.

They were going for it at fourth in a yard, get stopped, look like they were close to going up 14 to nothing.

And then I bet there's a lot of you right now waking up hearing this news saying wow really that happened.

Really? You went to bed. There was a good spot felt like the Chiefs were in total control and then bang.

Everything falls apart. Now a couple of things worth thinking about back in 2014.

The Patriots went on the road against the Chiefs and lost 41 to 14.

They went on to win the Super Bowl that year.
