Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another episode of the Irish Breakdown podcast, brought

rundown coming your way now that we're at the halfway point in the week. And we're kind of

coming up on the point in the season where we're starting to turn the page on spring.

We're going to start looking forward to summer workouts and fall camp. And I'm waiting for Karen to pop in the chat and tell me how many days left until Notre Dame kicks off against Wisconsin. But before we can officially start turning the page on the show is not complete unless Karen jumps in with the countdown to Game War. I know. It's a lot of pressure. She's got to be here every day. She can't miss. We've got to get it. We've got to get the fix.

I know, man. I know. I rely on it every single day. Like, I need water and bread. But before we can officially turn the page on spring, what we're going to do today, really fun show coming your way. We're kind of recapping spring all in one show. and it's not breaking it down practice by practice or what we saw in the blue gold game or the Jersey scrimmage.

It's just more big picture.

Part one today, we're talking superlatives.

We're talking spring breakouts.

We're talking breakouts on offense and defense, top freshmen, top transfers, biggest surprises.

So that's going to be a lot of fun to dive into.

Part two and three today's show we're splitting this up between the offensive defense. And we're talking about what we learned and then the questions that we still have. Some questions are fine. Some are just natural because we just haven't seen some things yet. And there's 25 remaining practices in all of summer workouts to get through. So not like they have to play a game tomorrow. Those are going to be good conversations. And then today, folks, we're going to wrap up everything with a Friday or Friday. I got to stop calling them Friday free prox. I'm so used to doing them on Friday. We're wrapping everything up today with a daily mailbag. Now, similar to how we've done it so far this week, these mailbags are going to be themed. Like yesterday, we did one on the top 25. Our mailbag was dedicated to national topics today. We're talking Notre Dame and spring. So if you have any questions about the Notre Dame football team, any questions from spring, any questions about projecting forward to fall camp, or since we're talking breakouts of things today, guys, if you want to put in who you thought were breakout players from... Love to hear that. Yes, we would love to hear that from you guys. We can talk about those. So that's what the mailbag is going to be geared towards today. But Brian, before we get to that, a really fun conversation about spring superlatives. And I'm excited to dive into this one. Yeah, you know, we were originally planning on talking, you know, just diving into sort of the position breakdowns.

But we thought, you know, we were originally planning on talking, you know, just diving into sort of the position breakdowns. But we thought, you know, we never really truly put a bow on the spring. We never, like, did a full recap of the spring. We did the spring game rundown. And then we just immediately moved on to what's next without thinking like, man, we haven't, like, done like a recap of it.

So we'll have some fun with it.

And it is meant to be some of this stuff is meant to be kind of fun, but it's also like the

analysis of who stood out.

And it is, some of the superatives are about the spring.

It's not necessarily saying that guys will be breakouts in the fall,

but about like, hey, who really took that big step this spring and put themselves in a

position to say, hey, if they can build on this over the next, you know, three to three to four

months, then, hey, they've got a shot to then go carry this into the fall. And that's really

what we're at.
