Today, comedian Mo Amher, he's of Palestinian descent, but he grew up in Kuwait and Houston.

So besides his native Arabic, he learned to speak Spanish and the kind of English that

sets Texans at ease.

Amher stars in a new Netflix comedy about his life called Mo.

Also, veteran cold case investigator Paul Holt talks about pursuing killers and the emotional

toll of obsessing over gruesome crime scenes.

He played a key role in tracking down the Golden State Killer.

He has a new memoir called Unmasked, My Life Solving Cold Cases.

And John Powers reviews the documentary Three Minutes, A Lengthening, which shows a Jewish

neighborhood in Poland before it was erased by the Holocaust.

My guest, Mo Amher, is a comedian who brings a unique voice to his performances, rooted

in his unusual background.

Mo is short for Muhammad.

He's Palestinian, but he grew up in Kuwait, where his family enjoyed a comfortable life

until he was nine when the first Gulf War forced his family to flee to the United States

in 1991.

There, as he explained to Trevor Noah on the Daily Show, things were different.

I went to a really nice private British English school in Kuwait, and then we migrated

to Houston, Texas.

And that's a culture shock.
