My name is Christine Blackburn, and I'm here with Hannes Finney, and this is a best-of-story-worthy, worthy, worthy, worthy.

1:07.4

Yay!

1:13.4

And tonight we bring forth two stories from the best of the comedy store comics.

1:18.9

Yes, we may actually, this could be a part of a series because we have many comedy store comics who have been on the show.

1:22.5

But tonight we are going to feature Bobcat Goldthwaite and Pauly Shore.

1:44.3

That's right. And those two guys, when we say they're comedy store comics, it's because like in L.A., if you're a comedian, you kind of get attached to a certain club and that becomes your home club. They're improv comics. Like I think Seinfeld is sort of an improv comic, although he's out of New York. Yeah, Bobcat and Polly Shore, of course, now owns, now runs the comedy store. His mother owned it for many years.

1:44.8

Midsy Shore.

2:37.4

Polly doesn't have anything to do with the comedy store anymore. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. He performs there. He performs there. But his family, his brother runs it. He doesn't run it. Okay. But that's not the point. The point is there are laugh factory comics. There are improv comics. And then there's comedy store comics. Yes. And tonight on the show, we bring forth two of them. Yes, yes. And iconic people in their own right. Well, they've been at the Comedy Store for not just like one decade, but two and three decades and four decades long. And they're still performing there. Yeah, absolutely. The Comedy Store is a funny place, as you know, Honest. Yes, it is famously supposed to be haunted. But we asked Polly Shore, when he was on Storyworthy, I asked him that pointedly, did he think the comedy store was haunted? And he flat out said no. And in fact, he looked at me like, I never even heard anything like that. Hmm, interesting, because people say that all the time. I mean, I literally feel cold air upstairs in the green room.

2:38.8

Yeah, it is.

2:39.4

It is.

2:44.8

I'm usually not very metaphysical, but I felt some odd things at the comedy store.

2:49.4

Not like I actually saw a ghost, but just felt like there's some weirdness here. And it was the building was a mob restaurant in the 1940s called Searrow's. And 50s. Yeah. And 60s. So supposedly, you know, you could say, well, what if someone was murdered and their body was put in the dumbwaiter? And now if you're 20 years old, you're going, what's a dumb waiter? I'm not going to bother to explain. But the point is, is it could also be that it's an old building, faulty wiring, old electric.

3:12.2

Who knows? Yeah. It just, last time I was there, the green room had not been updated. It was very

3:17.4

1974. The wallpaper was like palm trees and leaves and stuff. Well, they have recently changed a lot in the comedy store. There's new furniture. The carpeting is new. Yeah, you've been the more recently than me. Yeah, they're updating the bathrooms. And it's really happening right now. The comedy store's on fire. Oh, yeah. It really is. I don't know. Yeah, comedy is, it's coming back, baby. I think comedy in general is coming back.

3:41.0

Yeah.

3:41.7

Yeah, absolutely.
