excited to be here man a lot to talk about um gino yeah i mean i tell you so the the initial

reaction it feels like from all jets fans is what you would expect right like i can't believe it

how the hell are we going to get anywhere with a guy like Gino Smith and... God damn it. God damn it. Yeah, like Joe Beningo. Yeah, God damn it. That's the initial reaction. That's what we need. We need a Beningo watch. Oh my gosh. He should have been... You know how like Chefty pops up right away? Yeah. We need a Beningo take.

You know what?

Well, the thing about him is you know exactly what he's going to say at this point.

I mean, it's just there is nothing that he hasn't said that he would say about the Gino Smith thing.

But I think there's a bigger point being missed here that sort of hammers home a point

I've been talking about for a while with the general manager and Darren Mojee. There's two things

that have happened in this offseason that the Jets and only the Jets have had to do because they are

looked at throughout the league as a a as the bottom of the barrel organization

that no one wants to go play for.

And Gino Smith, we will get into that part of it in a second, but I wanted to get this

out there first because I think people are missing this.

They had to trade for two guys who were going to be released in almost any other year

in the offseason because they can't convince anybody to come play with them.

Right. So they had to go out and trade for Minka Fitzpatrick when he was going to get released

and then give him a new contract. And then they had to trade for Ginka Fitzpatrick when he was going to get released and then give him a new contract

and then they had to trade for Gino Smith who everybody was told was going to get released

a week ago, two weeks ago everybody knew. But because if Gino had hit the wire and all other

teams would have had an opportunity to sign him,

Gino might have said, hell, I'll go to Minnesota to be a backup before I go to the Jets to start.
