And this week you can tell this is not the media because we are fortunate enough to have a guest who is joining us this week to talk about the ridiculous power the wealthy have over all of us.

How they control our democracy or what little of it we have left. And they will

be parting tonight in Chicago because they control that convention that's happening right now here

too. Here to give us a better idea of how powerful the wealthy truly are and what might be

able to be done to take their power away from them returning to. This is how we are very happy to have back on the

show economist and author Rob Larson who joins us to discuss his new book mastering the

universe the obscene wealth of the ruling class what they do with their money and why you

It's great to have you on the show. Just as a real kind of off-the-cuff, weird question to begin with, in your research, in writing your book, what was the most absurd display of

wealth that you saw? Oh, man, that's a tough call. A number of possibilities there.

You know, for me, it's more about like what the top tier is for these kind of questions, because

it's so hard to pick an absolute number one.

I read about a Russian oligarch with a super yacht that had a bulletproof safe room in it.

I remember that.

And a bulletproof shower stall, which, you know, you need that.

I think my favorite, though, was just a book I read about The Rich in New York, and it was, I think, a 1950s Manhattan socialite.

And every week she would send her butler out east to their main estate in the Hamptons to dig up dirt because it was the favorite dirt for her pet peakingies,

peaches to poop on.
