Okay, so this holiday break we are counting down our three favourite episodes of 2022.

Documentary filmmaker Ben Proudfoot talked to Tiff about the incredible life of basketball star Lucia May Harris.

And he explained why her story has largely been lost to history.

So Ben, you have a different background than many of the guests that we have on our show.

So can you first just tell us a little bit about yourself?

Sure, I'm from Nova Scotia in Canada and I was a magician as a teenager,

which is how I first came to Los Angeles because I was part of the Magic Castle Junior program.

No way. Yes, it's true. And that's also how I got into like being an entrepreneur because I needed to make money to fly my way from Halifax to LA.

And eventually that love of magic transformed into a love of movies.

So the sleight of hand magic turned into the magic of moviemaking.
