Happy to talk about this tanking problem that you think the NBA doesn't have, and yet

Adam Silver is informing 30 general managers yesterday that the NBA plans to make anti-tanking

rule changes for next season, which encompasses a variety of different things.

ESPN did some reporting on this yesterday, Shams Sharania. First round draft picks can be protected only for top four or top 14 plus

selections. Lottery odds freeze at the trade deadline or a later date. No longer allowing a team

to pick in the top four in consecutive years and or after consecutive bottom three finishes.

So you're alleging that they're doing this not because there's an actual issue,

but because enough people are talking about an issue that you don't think that they actually have,

that they just need to get out there and handle some PR.

Correct. This is really simple to me, too, honestly.

So look, by the way, we've got plenty of time this morning.

Every one of those proposals is damned and will absolutely fall apart.

So if those are Adam Silver's great ideas to stop tanking, there was a great tweet yesterday

from an NBA reporter that literally ripped every single one of them apart. So if your answer is you can't pick in the top four two straight years, well, now what you're really doing is incentivizing people to tank to get to the seventh or eighth worst record if they're not in the playoff hunting more late in the season because they know that they have a better shot. Dot four because we're taking people out. Like if tanking is really a problem, you're not going to fix it. But here's the thing that just stands out to me that absolutely just blows my mind.
