The commanders had a busy offseason.

They brought in a bevy of veterans to help upgrade the roster.

Javon Kinlaw, Von Miller, Jonathan Jones, Will Harris, Dietrich Wise, Eddie Goldman,

Jacob Martin, all on the defensive side of the ball.

And it was Harris, the safety, formerly the New Orleans Saints,

but I caught up with after practice today to talk about his first workout on the field in camp

with his brand new team.

Kind of like back to school day, first day here with a new organization at training camp.

How did everything go?

Oh, it went amazing.

It's always good to get back on the grass with the guys, get back to playing football. You know what I mean?

Had a good break. You know, came in here during OTAs, competed, and excited to get back out here and continue that and lean into that standard that we have here and continue to build that every day.

When you hit the market this off season, what kind of things were you looking for

in a new team? And how did Washington separate themselves? You know, to be honest, I was, I was, I was attracted

here, man, from the, you know, from the beginning, from the beginning. I love, like I said,

you know, the standard that we have here, you know, the things that we, you know, that we kind of lean into here, the way guys play for each other here, you know, that love in the building, like everything, you know what I mean, it was a perfect fit. And I wish, you know, it would have happened soon. You know, this, this culture that we have here, you can't fake that.

You can't duplicate that.

You know what I mean?

So I'm blessed, you know, for the opportunity to be here, and I'm excited to get this team,

you know, everything I have.

Was that something you noticed from afar, like in the conference?

You guys played them, obviously, in New Orleans last year.
