Summary

In this episode, we welcome Bert Sorin to the show. He is the President and Co-Owner of Sorinex Exercise Equipment, a business founded by his father, Richard Sorin, in 1980. Sorinex has been making some of the most durable strength training equipment in the industry for more than 40 years. The gear they make is utilized by athletes, service members, and students around the world. Also, he is a 4-time D-1 All-American Track and Field athlete (Hammer and 35 lb. Weight Throw), Southeastern Conference Champion, former record holder in Weight Throw, an Olympic trials athlete, and a Highland Games athlete. Additionally, he is an ambassador of the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation, an organization that leads the effort to plan, fund, design, and build the Global War on Terrorism Memorial at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. In this interview, we discuss why his father began building strength equipment, when Sorinex really took off, why John Eldredge’s Wild at Heart was so impactful for him, why young men in America need rites of passage, how he got involved in the family business, his circuitous route to becoming a collegiate athlete and then a professional athlete, how dads should pull and not push their children into things, why strength training is so important, why hunting provides him inspiration for his athletic training, and much more. Let’s get into it… Episode notes and links HERE Donate to support our mission of equipping men to push back darkness Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
