Today we have the honor of bringing you Benjamin's story.

We normally share stories out of the Acts 29 network, but today we will be talking about abuse that occurred at Bethlehem College and Seminary.

That's right, the John Piper is the quote-unquote chancellor of this school, and his teachings span far and wide in the Young Restless

Reformed movement. Chances are, if you've attended in Acts 29 church, you have read one of his

books, heard one of his sermons, or at the very least heard him referenced. Over the past year,

there have been many notable stories of abuse to come out of both the school and church associated

with it, and because of this, we have chosen both the school and church associated with it.

And because of this, we have chosen to keep names in order to avoid confusion.

When I personally first started to find my own voice and my own story,

Benjamin was one of the first people to acknowledge and champion me.

Benjamin was bravely raising his voice at the cost of much to warn others of the

abuse happening within Bethlehem Seminary. I was drawn to his boldness and grace, and I respect him

greatly. He and his wife, Chloe, have cared well for my heart as I have sought healing, and his

openness about spiritual abuse has been an incredibly beautiful part of my own journey

Benjamin's courage and shepherd's heart to stand up to a system that promised security if he

fell in line but came with rules that meant dehumanizing others is commendable and inspiring

and as you listen we hope you too are blessed by his bravery.
