As we inch a little closer, not only to the draft of. Hey, boys, it's Big 12 Combine week.

Let's go. Heading out to Dallas. I smell a dinner coming our way tomorrow as we get ready for the Big 12 Combine.

Let's let's go. We got this year two of this event fired up to get a, you know, another look at some players, man.

You never pass down an opportunity to evaluate. Yeah, we're going to have a chance to uh not only see all those guys we're going to talk to all those head coaches too during the week so looking forward to that what we got three hours of coverage ret you're on that right yeah i talked to uh by the way coach satterfield uh today your uh your old pal over an app it's got um i think about a close to a dozen c dozen Cincinnati players that will be taking part. So I'm excited to see some of those guys. He gives some a couple of nuggets on those guys. And that, look, that's ultimately what we're trying to do here as well is, you know, get to know some of these guys and let those of you tune in on Wednesday and Thursday. Once we're down there in Dallas, get a chance to better know some of these players that are going to end up on your favorite teams. That's what's all about. Looking forward to it. So when you have Derek Stingley getting a new deal, putting him at the top of the corner market, I want to go back to that draft class.

So this is 2021, the NFL draft. These are, I'll give you the top 13 picks here.

Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Kyle Pitts, Jamar Chase, Jalen Waddle, Penae Soule, J.C. Horn, Patrick Sartan, Devante Smith, Justin Fields, Micah Parsons, Rishan Slater. From that group, we've already seen now, Trevor Lawrence has got paid. We've seen Jamar Chase. We've seen Waddle. We've seen Sewell. We've seen Horn. We've seen Sertan. We've seen Devante Smith. And yet to come, I would imagine we're going to see eventually the Micah Parsons, Rishon Slater, Elijah Ver Tucker, I would guess probably gets done. I mean, that is a lot of dudes sticking and getting big deals on second contracts.

That turned out to be a heck of a draft.

It did turn out to be a heck of a draft.

And it's interesting that most of the guys that we're talking about are your non-quarterbacks,

your guys that are your traditional position players and how we were able to, like I would say,

some teams avoided the temptation of getting a quarterback and focus on taking the best player available.

And those guys have turned out to be, I would say, even better than expected.

And Derek Stanley signing his deal, I just remember looking at the tape.

And you had to lean on a lot of the earlier years.

Yeah, he didn't play much to that last year. As opposed to the last season. But there's a lesson in that for scouts, it's the entire body of work. It's not the final season. You got to look at it all. And he was helped by the fact that we were able to look at the one-on-one tapes, him against Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase,

that certainly played a part in him being drafted when he was drafted. That was my coup that year.
