All right, a busy Wednesday podcast here because of the breaking news this morning,

that Dwayne Haskins has been benched.

Kyle Allen's going to be the starting

quarterback for Washington against the Rams on Sunday. And not only has Dwayne been benched, he's the

number three quarterback because Alex Smith has been elevated to number two. Tommy's going to be

on the show today. Coolie's going to be on the show today. But we're starting this show with J.P. Finley, of course, from NBC Sports, Washington, who covers the team.

You know, before we get to now, the distinct possibility that you're going to win $1,000

from me on a $20 to $150 bet that Alex Smith gets an actual start this season,

a legitimate start and plays more than a half.

Remember, that's part of it too.

I have to ask you, were you surprised at the news just moments ago

that was first reported by Ian Rappaport and then

confirmed by the team that Dwayne Haskins has been benched. Not surprised by the decision,

but surprised maybe by the timing. I thought this was coming, honestly. I thought it could happen against the Ravens. I wasn't

going to be shocked if Kyle Allen came out against the Ravens, but I thought Dwayne played pretty

well against Baltimore. If the turnover parade that was happening in Cleveland continued against

Baltimore, I think they would have pulled them.

Now, I think the difference here, and I wrote a story about this, is that the next four opponents for Washington are four and 12 combined.

And I think Ron's taking it seriously the opportunity to try and win this division.

And Kevin, our bet aside, I wonder how much this is about Kyle Allen
