Let me tell all of you what I teased, which is I'm going to tell you something about

David Blow that maybe you didn't know, and then we'll get into it with Ben on this hire. So

David Blow was a quarterback at Purdue, and he was a very good quarterback in his final season

in 2018. In fact, in a game early that season against Missouri,

he set the Big Ten record for total yards in a game.

He threw for 572 in a 40 to 37 loss to Missouri,

but he had a total of 590 yards, which was at that point the Big 10

all-time total yardage record for a game. But in that season of 2018, they beat undefeated

number two Ohio State in West Lafayette, 49 to 20.

In that game, Blow threw for 378 in the win over the second ranked Buckeyes.

The boilers at that point were 3 and 3.

But I pulled up the game story, Ben, and first of all,

in that game, Dwayne Haskins set an Ohio State record that still stands today with 73

pass attempts in the game. He was 49 of 73 for 470 yards in the loss. Blow, by the way, 25 of 43,

378, three touchdowns, no picks. But in the game recap, there are quotes from Blow,

but then there's this quote, quote, my main message is we have to treat this like it's life or death. You have to have

that type of mentality going into battle when someone's trying to knock you off. If you don't come

ready, this happens. Closed quote, said by the leading receiver in the game for Ohio State that day, or one of them, Terry McCorn.

Terry McCorn knows David Blow really well.

They lost their undefeated season in 2018, courtesy of Blow's brilliant performance.

Blow was actually, after that senior year, up for multiple awards following the end of that season. He was a very

good college quarterback at Purdue in his final year, and he's now the offensive coordinator
