I believe we should hit a point in time where the Yankees, in theory,

unretire every number. What?

Okay, why?

Not that any Yankee should ever wear three again for Babe Ruth,

but we've gotten to the point of ridiculous.

They've called up Ben Rice.

Ben Rice has been assigned number 93. And for me, look, this isn't football with a

D tackle or a D end. And you know, Tiki, your number 21 is not retired by the Giants.

How hard it is to have your number retired football? You need a

million numbers, 53 guys and whatnot. Right. I see Ben Rice get called up at 93 and

maybe this is the old man part of me at 37 years old. The Yankees have retired so many damn numbers and I think all of them

are deserving in Yankee lore that can't we have the numbers retired while still being

worn where they're honored out there in Monument Park.

Like to me, you know, 51's retired for Bernie Williams.

There's a couple that we could say wink wink will never wear again.

But like others where you're like, they're retired but they're not.

Well it's interesting because the University of Virginia does it.
