Just want to give a couple tips out there for people that are interested in purchasing a cruising boat and living the so-called dream.

A realistic thought process is to assume that all the systems are going to need to be refit.

But planning and budgeting to refit consumables is prudent ownership.

Mia and I, plus our crew of Ed, David, Bruce, and Tom

completed the final passage of our 2016 season early yesterday morning,

arriving into the BVI under a brilliant moon.

That final night at sea was one of the finest of my career.

Seas were calm, a gentle 12-knott easterly breeze was blowing,

the moon was bright enough to read by, and East Bjorn was blasting along on a close reach at nearly eight knots.

To cap it off, the excitement of our pre-dawn landfall after eight and a half days and

fourteen hundred miles at sea made for a special night of sailing.

So after sailing nearly 8,000 miles in 2016, Eastpiorne gets a break now.

She'll stay in Tortola under the care of our friend

and racing skipper Paul Exner until we return in February to begin our 2017 schedule. If you want
