Hey, before we start talking about the players that are going to be picked at the top of the draft,

can you give us a Utah perspective on the owner of the jazz,

Ryan Smith, who owns both the jazz and the Utah Mammoth.

He bought the jazz back in 2020.

He's a multi-billionaire who made his money in cloud computing.

Tell us about Ryan Smith and tell us how

desperate you think he is to keep AJ DeBanza in Utah instead of getting drafted number

one by the Wizards. Yeah, Ryan's an interesting dude. He is not technically a Utah native. He

was born in Oregon, but he's lived here his whole life. He lived in a city called Provo, which is where BYU is. It's about 40 minutes from Salt Lake City. But he's a huge jazz

lifer. Yeah, made several billion dollars selling his, his Qualtricks company, and kind of was

looking to buy an NBA team. That's what he wanted to get into next and almost bought the Timberwolves,

and I think flurred with the Phoenix Suns at one point and then ultimately decided, I'm a jazz fan. And the longtime owners of the jazz just kind of broke everything up. They just sold all their companies. And he bought them at what is now a steal at $1.5 billion, I think. And has kind of infiltrated some life into the team. And they were always very steady under the previous

ownership. But I've always described Ryan as a real infrastructure owner. He's rebuilt

practice facilities. He's rebuilt the arena. Obviously, he brought the hockey team up from Phoenix.

So he's very good at instilling kind of an entire support system. And now it's about actually

winning. But, you know, he bought that team that
