All right I want you to turn to Genesis chapter 3.

There are a lot of other scriptures in the message,

but we'll start at Genesis chapter 3.

We're in a series called Created To Be,

and we're talking about four things that God created us to be.

And we talked last week about believe in Jesus,

and he created us to be believers.

This week we're going to talk about belong to family.

That God created us to belong.

He created us to belong to him and to belong to family. He created Adam and

he. They were to belong to him and to each other. All of us want to belong.

And probably most of us did some things growing up

because we wanted to belong that we shouldn't have done.

Don't look at me with that holier than thou look.

Or smarter than thou look either, because I know like for one year in high school I joined the rodeo club

That was a mistake. And I chose to ride bulls.

That was a huge mistake.

And ended up with a trip to the emergency room and some broken bones and things like that.

I don't know if you notice this, but most trips to the emergency room for teenage boys are preceded by the statement,

hey guys watch this.

So we do some things because we're born with a desire to belong. I want to show you

where that came from and how sin entered the world and took and perverted that desire.
