I want to use Daniel as an example of this. Now he's an Old

Testament saint and there is a difference between the way he received from

God and the way we received so it needs a little bit of

interpretation but nonetheless the principal here is

illustrating the point that I'm talking about in Daniel chapter 9

Daniel begin to pray a prayer in Daniel Chapter 9,

asking for revelation about the prophecy

that Jeremiah had given about that there

would be 70 weeks of captivity of the Jews in a foreign land. It had already

been 70 weeks and it hadn't come to pass. So he was asking God for revelation.

It turns out that in the ninth chapter God gave him a tremendous

revelation about these were 70 weeks of years of captivity. So anyway this is what he

was praying about and in Daniel chapter 9 verse 3 he says I set my face under the Lord God to seek by prayer and

supplications with fasting and sackcloth and ashes and I prayed under the

Lord my God and made my confession and said and he begins to

record his prayer. I'm not going to take time to read it but let's jump down to verse 19. This is the end of his prayer. Oh Lord here,

O Lord forgive, oh Lord hearken and do defer not for thine on sake, oh my God for thy city and for thy people that are called

by thy name.

And while I was speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and presenting my
