Uplifting Wayfm, this is The Wally Show. And if you knew Becca, who was on our show and then went on to do her own show afternoons here at Wayfm, You probably followed some of her story with her husband getting

really sick when we were in Africa. And my wife flew home with her because they were saying

her husband was going into Oregon failure and might not even make it through the night.

Imagine doing a 14-hour flight with that information in your head. And that was where her

nine-year journey with Joey and his chronic

illness started. And sadly, Joey passed away in May. But Becca wanted to share her story

with so many of you who have walked through this with her and maybe didn't get to hear her

heart in a lot of it because she was consumed by it. And so we sat down for a very honest conversation.

And we'll send you a link. But I'll tell you, man, watching it from the outside, it was so frustrating because all along the way it seemed like they could never get a break

and just things just always seem to keep going wrong. He had major surgery in 2019 where they

removed his stomach, half his pancreas, his spleen, lots of his intestines. That surgery went terribly wrong, of course.

And we were up at Mayo Clinic for six weeks.

And so it just kind of was this story of never getting better.
