Message Notes: 1 Timothy 6:17-19 YOU ARE RICH! $33,000: Top 1% of wage earners in the world! $80,000: Top .1% of wage earners in the world! Simply possessing wealth does not make you good at managing it. Having a lot of people make does not make you good at being rich, as having a lot of children does not make you good at being a parent. 1. Don’t be proud. Arrogance is having an inflated sense of self-worth. My net worth does not determine my self-worth. Generosity begins with giving thanks, not giving things” 2. Don’t trust in riches. I will not trust in riches but in Him who richly provides. 3. Do dood. Don’t use generosity as an excuse to lose integrity. Obedience is better than sacrifice. I will not become bad trying to be rich. 4. Be rich in good works. Greed is assumption that all we have is for our consumption. I will be richer in faith than in finances. 5. Be ready to give. I will make giving a priority, give with percentage, and make giving progressive. 6. Willing to share. I will share not just sell. 7. Store a foundation in eternity. I will store more in my IEA fund than my IRA. 0:21.0	and we all know a lot of rich people who are not good at it for those people who think if you
0:27.5	if you have a lot of money it automatically makes you good at being rich it's kind of like having a lot of
0:32.1	children it makes you automatically good parent somebody said said, not really.
0:39.9	Having a lot of money doesn't make you good at being rich.
0:42.9	The same way as having a lot of children
0:44.6	doesn't make you good at being a parent.
0:47.5	And so Bible has a lot to say,
0:49.1	and we're going to learn about that.
0:50.6	Today's message is the first installment,
0:52.7	and I'm going to title it,
0:53.9	being rich at what
0:55.2	matters the most. And so if you have your Bible, we will take our text for this series from Timothy,
1:02.2	from the New Testament in 1 Timothy chapter 6 and verse 17 and down. Apostle Paul tells Timothy,
1:09.4	he says, commend these things to those who are rich in this
1:13.0	present age, not to be hearty, not to trust in uncertain riches, but in living God, who gives us
1:19.2	richly all things to enjoy, let them do good that they may be rich in good works, ready to give,
