Amen and amen and good morning so you can remain standing if you want uh because if you sit down

i'm going to have you stand up so um and uh for the reading of god's word which by the way

uh that's not just something we do because that's just what we do. It actually comes from the Old Testament when Ezra

read from the scroll found in the temple. And so they stood for the reading of God's word. I just

wanted to explain that to you as to why we do that. So you feel better now? Okay, good.

I want to welcome those of you. You don't have to

stand online unless you want to, of course, but we want to welcome you. We're so glad that you're

joining with us. On Sunday mornings, we're now in 1st John in our verse by verse study in today's

text is chapter 1, beginning in verse 4 four and we'll go through to verse seven

the apostle john is continuing now and writes by the holy spirit verse four we write this

to make our joy complete this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you.

God is light.

In Him there is no darkness at all.

If we claim verse 6 to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin.

Father, thank you so, so much, Lord.

Lord, this passage that we have before us this morning is a word fitly spoken for such a time as this,

for us today.

That's why we're here today, Lord.

We know that there's something here that you want us to hear and not just here but heed take heed to

Lord I pray that you would as only you can and are always so faithful to just minister to us and speak to us and feed us from the bread of life
