Gratitude is considered one of the most important emotions that we can have. At the Choper Center, we recently completed a study where we asked people to write down every

night all the things that came to their mind that they could be grateful for that had happened

on that particular day.

And just by keeping a journal, we called it a gratitude journal, and the people that kept this were people with chronic heart failure.

And they all improved, their condition improved, the inflammatory markers went down in a way that no drug could do.

So gratitude decreases opens the door to what we call abundance consciousness and gratitude gets rid of toxic

emotions like hostility. You can't feel hostility and gratitude at the same time. So I would suggest that every once in a

while or at least once a day just sit quietly close your eyes, bring your awareness to your heart and mentally ask yourself,

what am I grateful for? You don't have to look for any answers. The answers will come to you spontaneously

in the form of sensations, images, feelings, and thoughts.

experience abundance and flow in your life because gratitude is also the window to your soul. Before we finish I want to practice gratitude towards an often underappreciated but powerful sense and that is the sense of

smell because it can change your mind and perspective on the world. In my practice I have used scent or

fragrance in what I call a Roma therapy where you are simultaneously thinking of an intention and smelling the

fragrance of a scent at the same time. After a while all you have to do is
