It's always a tricky topic when we're talking about paranormal and ghost stories because a lot of times mental illness does play a role.

And it's not always ghost, so it's not always spirits and it's not always the woo-woo. Sometimes it just is mental illness that is going untreated.

I don't know what we're about to hear in this story. Sometimes we have stories of folks who are suffering with that and also have hauntings going on at the same time, making it even harder to be believed.

Hey guys, my name is Eleanor and I'm from the Midwest. I grew up in a Victorian house that was crazy haunted.

And I plan on calling back and telling you guys about that. But for now, I'm just going to tell you an unrelated story.

When I was in my mid 20s, I moved back from the West Coast after a horrible abusive relationship.

And when I moved back, I met this guy that seemed perfect. We had tons of stuff in common. I started going over to his apartment to hang out with him and he lived in this building that's fairly well known in our town for being haunted.

Before it was a loft building, it was a cold storage building before the days of refrigeration. And people see stuff there all the time. It's supposed to be haunted because of the prohibition.

Anyways, when I'd go over there, I'd start seeing this big black thing in his hallway. And it was tall and skinny and just super dark black.

And it kind of freaked me out, but it wasn't something that I was like horrified by because I've seen things like that my whole life.

So three months into the relationship, his leads up and we decided to go for it and move in together.

We moved into this old Victorian house. It's in the same neighborhood as my parents' house and it's one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city.

So it's just filled with gorgeous old Victorians. So the day we moved in, I saw this big tall black thing in my neighbor's backyard.

And it was the middle of the day, but it was dark, dark, dark black. And I told him about it, but he didn't really want to talk about it.

So we moved in, everything's magical and wonderful and the relationship I thought was going well.
