I'm here today with Joe Zia Overton.

My name is Dennis Meale, the founder and CEO of Street Cop Training,

and today we're going to talk about Josiah's incident.

An unfortunate one, but I'm sure we're going to find values we usually do.

We talk to people who have been through something like this in an effort to try to prepare

police officers around this country to empathize, understand, maybe be

supportive for somebody else or recognize when they go through something, if they go through something,

hopefully never anything like this, to what to expect and how to

well thanks for having me all I appreciate it so give me a little rundown of who you are where you live. I don't know if you want to talk about your agency or name it particularly and then we'll start going into you just give me a little bio of who you are. Well, yeah, so, I'm 26. I live in Springfield, Missouri.

It's the third largest city in Missouri. It's got 168,000 people.

I work for the Springfield Police Department.

It's a pretty decent size agency. I think we have a little over 300 officers.

So I actually I grew up in Illinois and I moved down here to go to college and

once I graduated college I had a buddy who already worked for Springfield and obviously I didn't really want to go back to Illinois to get into law enforcement.
