Herkimer, aka Herky, standardized chairs and routines and marketed a cookie cutter

cheerleader identity through his chair camps. One of the things that would happen at cheerleading camps is you are very much made to understand

that you are at the top of the social hierarchy at your high school if you were a cheerleader.

Herky taught cheerleaders that they're better than everyone else, that they represent ideal femininity, the all-American girl next door.
