Two guests today in Moments Margaret Corbett will talk about Britain in the run

up to the June election and Emory Ongun examines Turkey's evolution into a more

authoritarian state in the wake of a referendum giving enhanced powers to President

Resip Erdogan. First the British election. Last month, British Prime Minister Theresa May, thinking the Labor Party was in fatal disarray

over internal divisions over its radical leader Jeremy Corbin, called a snap election for June 8th.

She's gambling that her Conservative Party

would win big as it faces the challenges of negotiating Britain's exit from the

EU on which the EU is taking a very hard line by the way. My first guest Margaret Corbett is a writer, a labor

party activist, and a professional dominatrix, originally from the US who is now

living in Plymouth, a small city in southwest England. Her work can be found in the new statesman, among other outlets.

Let's just talk some about the upcoming British election. What do you think the prospects are

for Jeremy Corbett and the Labor Party?

It's definitely an uphill slog for the Labor Party.

There are indeed a lot of people on the doors who don't like Jeremy Cor Corbyn, but we have closed the gap by 10 points since the election

started and we're continuing to catch up.

So I'm cautiously optimistic.

Corbett is facing an awful lot of opposition from within his own party not to mention

the Conservatives.

Who are these people and what do they have against him? Just a little bit of history in this situation.
