dissent and K Gabriel will appeal how the right is using the trans panic to

wreck teachers unions in public schools. Over the last decade or so there's been a

movement at all levels of government to criminalize dissent. These include expanded

domestic terrorism laws and racketeering charges which we've seen in the

repression of protest against Cop City in Atlanta. We're almost certain to see more of

it in the wake of the campus protests against Israel's war on Gaza.

Before the explosion of Gaza protest,

I guess Cop City and Atlanta was maybe the most visible

sight of the criminalization of protest.

How did that all evolve and then what's been going on lately there?

Yeah I mean cop city the protest against the construction of this police

training facility in Atlanta kind of began in late 2021.

And last year we saw Georgia law enforcement

really crack down on that movement

and use both domestic terrorism laws and racketeering law to sweep up dozens of

protesters who have been involved in that ongoing campaign and hitting them with really serious that

ongoing campaign and hitting them with really serious charges that for example the racketeering
