double-headed today. In moments Guardian columnist Oditia Chakra Borti

will do the post-mortem, a term that seems sadly appropriate, on last week's

British election, and then Nathan Robinson will lay out the irresistible appeal of socialism.

British voters handed a giant victory to Boris Johnson and his Conservative Party in the December 12th election.

The Labor Party, whose prospects seemed shimmeringly bright a couple of years ago, experienced its worst defeat in decades.

What happened? Why did a party led by a vicious

and big at its upper-class twit which has imposed nearly a decade of austerity and the people of

Britain enjoy such an electoral reward.

What was the role of Brexit?

While everybody's doing the post-mortums,

you know the five reasons that Labor lost, what would be on your list?

I genuinely think that Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party, and the left in Britain,

under-restimated the scale of the challenge that they faced in getting anywhere

near elected this year. So what you're seeing at the moment is a kind of shock of people who thought that even

if they weren't going to win this one, they'd be close enough that the next one wouldn't

be far off. And you've also got a kind of Westminster cadre of

politicians and people who think politically who have been detached from voters for a very long time.
