Summary

Ahead of tonight’s huge match, Matt Addison speaks to Football.London's Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold to get the lowdown on the visitors to Anfield and the team Jose Mourinho has taken to the top of the table. In Harry Kane, Spurs have a player looking more like Roberto Firmino every week that goes by, while Heung-min Son is benefiting greatly from his captain’s transition to a creator as well as a goalscorer. Along with Gareth Bale, Tottenham fans hope they have a trio to rival Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino, and while they aren’t quite there yet, the quality of the individuals is clear. It’s also the case in the other areas of the pitch, where Sergio Reguilon, who Liverpool looked at before signing Kostas Tsimikas in the summer, has started life in north London in fine form. Tanguy N’Dombele, meanwhile, has turned a corner, making the midfield battle something to look forward to at Anfield for a Liverpool team still with a plethora of injury problems limiting their selection options (despite what Mourinho says).
