| 0:44.5 | At the time, my grandma had glaucoma, |
| 0:47.4 | and I didn't know what that was or how to handle it. |
| 0:49.6 | So we were taking a doctor all the time. |
| 0:51.5 | And I was like, wait, we all have iPhones. |
| 0:53.7 | Couldn't I make something that you put on the phone that actually allows you to not have to go to the doctor so often? |
| 1:00.2 | Turns out you could, but I wasn't solving anything for a glaucoma, but for a different disease called macular degeneration. |
| 1:07.3 | And what was crazy is I 3D printed this device, had all these lenses in it, and then I sent it to South Africa, and this doctor picked it up, and he started going into rural villages and scanning people's eyes. |
| 1:17.3 | Unfortunately, I wasn't able to help my grandma with it, but I was able to help other people that I never met, and then that got some notice online, and that got me my first internship. |
