Day two of our Fast Forward challenge,

today I would like to speak with you

about the beginner's guide to prayer.

Prayer is something that every Christian knows they must do.

And though we hear a lot about it,

what I would like to do today is I would like to provide you not only an inspiration,

but also a practical instruction of how to jumpstart your prayer life.

I believe the next few things that I'm going to share with you

are going to put a fire inside of your heart to pray.

Because fasting without prayer is really a diet.

And if you pray and you add fasting, it's fire.

But we do have to bring prayer into fasting.

Now, does God reward fasting even if we just fast? Yes. But prayer coupled with fasting

is where the breakthrough is at. Augustine of Hippo in his book Confessions said this.

Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.

James 4.8 said, draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

This tells me we were created to have an intimacy with God. You were created to be connected to God.
