The Lord Jesus said that if your hand causes you to stumble that you should cut off your hand

or if your foot causes you to stumble that you should cut off your foot or if your eye causes you to stumble that you should gouge it out or throw it away.

And there are some people who've taken this very literally and they've actually done these things

to their bodies in the history of the church, yet I think they've radically misunderstood

the words of Christ.

So we're going to talk about that today,

as well as some really harsh words of Jesus

about hell and about the decision that faces every human being

when it comes to sin on one side and God on the other. This is the

third installment of the Mark series where I'm teaching, I'm Mike Winger

I'm teaching through the Gospel of Mark and this is just a verse by verse study but we are focusing on theology and

apologetics and going sort of deep into the text to try to understand it very well and

very thoughtfully that's the goal I'm aiming for I want to take us deep into the understanding of

scripture so we can be thinking biblically about everything. So let's just dig

right in by first reading the text. So we're going to read versus 43 through 48. That's kind of like the first

section we're going through today as we're reading this loaded into your mind.

Allow yourself to ask questions about it. Allow yourself to be trying to figure

out what is it that he's trying to say here,
