Did you know that when McDonald's initially introduced Grimmest? He was actually called Evil Grimmest.

The man asked me as I restocked the condiments below the counter. He had come into the store every day

in order to Grimmest's birthday meal. And then all my years as a McDonald's manager,

I never had a stranger customer. He originally had four arms and stole moustaches from children.

Can you believe it? Yeah, I said, doing my best to ignore him. He was a nice enough guy,

but he had been in every day that corporate made us sell those shitty moustaches.

There were vanilla soft serve ice cream and some awful berry flavored mix.

Slap a limited time only sign outside and people come running.

I don't think. Seems like I remember reading that somewhere. The promotion was mostly a lot of trouble.

Trouble? The man asked. Still milling awkwardly in front of the register.

He hadn't ordered anything yet and I hoped he would hurry up. The store was a disaster

after the lunch rush and two of my closers had called in for the evening. How could such a fun

thing ever be trouble? I told them that corporate had sent us a Grimmest suit to advertise the

promotion. Jake, a sophomore at the local high school, came in every day after class and

put the suit on to dance around on the sidewalk and pass out samples of that purple slop.

But that lasted about two days before the kid had vanished.
