Becca Platsky, your host. And I'm here with my brother Adam Platsky. Hey there. All right. So

today we're talking about Bed Bath and Beyond. If you're ever in your mom's car and you open up

the glove compartment, you will see many blue pieces of paper coming tumbling out,

and you can take those blue pieces of paper to Bed Bath and Beyond,

where you can get 20% off anything.

And they have a lot of things.

It is stacked to the ceiling with bedding, sheets, cookware,

anything that you could possibly need for the home,

and that's their whole thing, Bed Bath and Beyond. They also have as seen on TV products. Oh, the best as seen on TV section for sure. We're going to dive right into it. We're going to do a quick background on Bad Bath and Beyond before we get into the gossip, the corporate tea of it all. And this is, was surprisingly juicy. When I started

researching this episode, I wasn't sure what I was going to find, but there's a lot here. So let's

get into the background. So bed, bath and beyond is founded in 1971 as bed and bath. The beyond

came later in New Jersey by Leonard Feinstein and Warren Eisenberg. They met working together

at a discount store and realized they could do something bigger and better.

So they were really at the forefront of the superstore movement.

So the superstore that you're walking in today, that's pretty much the model they have always had.

And it really inspired stores like Target and Walmart Supercenter for having everything you could

possibly need in one place. It was the true one-stop shop pre-Amazon. So Bad Bath and Beyond

really does two things right, right off the bat. They understand the customer really well.
