truly step into their identity as a son of God, to truly live life

We're going to pick up on the conversation we started last week with Morgan Snyder, John Eldridge, Craig McConnell, and Bart Hanson diving deeper into what it means to step

into our identity as Sons of God.

For me, one of the big frontiers where I feel like both desperately in need of the father and also

experiencing him in very new ways is in my marriage. I've been married to Sherry for 14 years and about a year ago

we just reached this kind of precipice where I would describe our marriage is mostly good.

90% of it's real good and we've had our hard years

but 10% of it is just painful and we would find ourselves again and again in this cycle of continuing to cause harm to each other

and just deep in the wounds, deep in the agreements, deep in this belief that this is as good as it gets.

And through some wild leading of the Holy

Spirit we got under some really good mentors and they helped us break through

to really come to the center of each other's pain and understand it for the first time.

And over the last year, what we found is Sonship has been the key in breaking through these new thresholds in our marriage because

Sonship is allowed Sherry and I to relate

almost as siblings in our marriage in a sense that we get to be each other's advocates.

We're sons and daughters of the father and that's our safe place and so it's given us

these tools where we can actually come to the center of each other's pain and
