I'm your host, Paula Phelps, and this week I'm sitting down with Tia Graham, a certified chief

happiness officer, founder of the company, Arrive at Happy, and author of the new book, Be a Happy

Happy Leader. Tia has multiple certifications in neuroscience, positive psychology, and leadership

coaching, and she works with executives and teams to help create happier

workplaces. Today, she's here to teach us how we can find more happiness at work. Tia, thank you so

much for coming on Live Happy Now. Thank you for having me. You know, work has long been a challenge

for people, and it's so important because it's

something that we spend most of our time doing. And there's a lot of unhappiness in the workplace.

And I wondered in your studies and your research, what made you decide to focus on leaders in the

workplace? Yes.

So prior to starting my company, arrive at happy, I was a director of sales and marketing,

a leader in the luxury hotel industry in different places in the United States and Europe.

So I was a leader of teams for 14 years and positive leadership was always

very, very important to me. I took it as, you know, an honor leading people. And in my 14 years of

leadership in the hotel industry, I had some incredible inspirational happy leaders. And I also had the

complete opposite. You know, I had some toxic,

very negative leaders. And one of my big missions is to, is to have more happy leaders in the

world of work. And then when I started researching the levels of disengagement with leaders,

that was another big motivation. And also, you know, the science of happiness

isn't extremely well known within, you know, corporate America. And so, yeah, lots of motivation
