Turn to John chapter 8, please.

We began a couple of weeks ago on a new series, and this is our main text in John 8 and

verse 31.

The scripture says, Jesus said to those Jews which believed on him, if you continue in my word.

One translation says if you continue to obey my teachings.

The amplified says if you hold fast and live in accordance to them, then are you my disciples indeed?

And you shall know the truth.

And the truth shall make you free.

Thank you, Lord.

A lot of times this 32nd verse is quoted by itself, but you know it goes with the 31st,

doesn't it?

And he's talking about discipleship.

And so much of what you learn, you don't just learn by book or by mind knowledge you learned by doing.

Think about it now.

How many in here drive a car?

Well, there was a time when you learned about driving from a book

or from somebody telling you about driving.

But then things really begin to get real to you when you got behind the wheel.

And they didn't tell you how that you can't see the center line.

When you're in the driver's seat.

And so many things that just for some reason didn't come up or didn't click

begin to click when you do it you don't really learn until you begin to do is that right
