Today, I'm talking to Becky O'Brien, a woman who stunned the audience at Britain's Got Talent in

2015, with her amazing singing voice, as well as her incredible story of leaving an abusive marriage.

We talk about how she realized she was in a controlling relationship and made the decision

to leave her husband, taking her five children with her.

She's now a domestic violence campaigner and one of the most positive people I know.

Oh, thank you for having me, Katie.

I've been really interested in your story because obviously, as with these massive shows like Britain's got talent, when you go on, the public sort of learn a lot about your personal life as well as your professional life.

Yeah.

And that's what happened to you when you became a contestant on

BGT. Yeah. So I was, you know, I thought about doing Britain's Got Talent and my oldest son, Jack,

I've got five children. My oldest son, Jack, was the one who remembered me performing before I had the

younger ones and before I'd given up. And he said to me, me mom you always tell us to go and do things that

we want to do and try and you've got to try and do it and show simon cow how it's done
