For the first time in a long time, a Democratic statewide candidate has outraised their Republican

incumbent opponent, and you know what this is about.

The Secretary of State race, Bobai, has raised more money than the incumbent Secretary of State

Diego Morales. So Bobai has raised $1.8 million last year, ending the year with $1.6 million

cash on hand. Diego Morales raised $500.8 million last year, ending the year with $1.6 million cash on hand.

Diego Morales raised $500,000 with $1.2 million cash on hand.

So buy has outraised Morales nearly fourfold, though Morales has emphasized his resources

are sufficient for the election.

It is going to be fascinating to watch this play out throughout 2026 and heading into the

midterm elections here in November because this is the first Democrat in a long time

that is able to seriously challenge the Republicans in a statewide election.
