It's May 25th, 2023, the beating of the book podcast, French Open Edition, Skill Alexander, for the tennis hardos, as Drew Drew likes to say which I love that's the

greatest comment ever it doesn't get any better than tennis for me because there's only two

people on earth I'd like to do these shows with and they are kind enough to amuse me and join me

for however long it takes to talk about these slams. And I think we do

Indian Wells as well. We sort of stretch it to a fifth. But it's Drew Dinsick from both a Bet the Edge,

NBC Sports Bet the Edge and Deep Dive podcast at Whale underscore Kapper, of course, our buddy Drew.

And then a gentleman who I was lucky enough to finally meet after all these years. He came to

Vegas. We hung out. I wish we could have hung out more, but he had other stuff he was doing as well at tennis ratings on Twitter. You've seen his work at Bedfair, at Pinnacle. this is the best time of year uh the french open is a unique slam i mean they're all unique

they all have specific characteristics and qualities but this one is fun because we have a lot

we have a lot of data to work with usually uh you know you're handicapping tennis and you're dealing with small sample size issues left and right, but we've had a full two months of, you know, Clay Court tennis to pick through the data and find some edges. So this is a really fun one to a handicap.

How has your run up? Let's start there, how is your run-up to the

French Open gone? I had a nice dog winner this morning on Julia Riara, but to be honest with

you, it's been very choppy for me on this run-up. How about for you? I'm in that boat for sure.

I feel like I've had second place in every big, big one. So, you know, it's, that's kind of the name of the game. Some goodreads, some, couldn't get across the finish line here. I'm trying to think if I've had any big winners. I guess, no, not really. Like, the last big plus money on my log is Carlos Alcraz at Indian Wells.

So it's been a while since I hit a big number.
