You know, these midweek pods were really supposed to be like straight up old school previews

of the upcoming Bears game. That's that was my intended goal. That's what I was thinking.

Look, if you go back to the one I did before the Packers game, that's supposed to be.

And the last two have not been that, sure, there are pre-game elements to it and previews

that give you a little bit. We'll give you a little bit about this game against Kansas City,

but the story about the Bears has been the Bears. It is, uh, wow. I'm going to try to give

you as much lucid reaction to everything that's happened with the Bears over the last five days

or longer, I guess a week, right? It was a week ago that we found out that Alan Williams wasn't

calling the defense against Tampa Bay. And try to make as much sense of it as I can.

Let's start with the Alan Williams stuff and then, you know what? Let's not. Let's start with the

quarterback stuff. Let's start with Justin and the things that he had to say, what I think it means,

what I think happens from here. I for one was very happy to see Justin Fields talk about what's

gone on in what I feel like was a very truthful way. I enjoy learning from the people that I cover.

I was having a conversation. I was actually talking with Big Ann about this a little while ago. How

despite Jay Cutler's faults and his faults are legion. I always enjoyed asking him questions

because he would give me and most of the people that covered the Bears when I covered the Bears

on a daily basis, he would give good answers to good questions. So you tried to come with a good

question and Jay would usually recognize a good question and try to give you a good football answer.

I actually learned a lot of football from Jay Cutler. I appreciate when people let us inside the

curtain. And I thought that's what Justin Fields was doing. He was letting us know, yeah, maybe I'm
